General Aims:

Promote the postal contribution to trade inclusion through evidence-based policy recommendations and related training tools. 

Provide for students:  

- the understanding of trade facilitation and relevant trade agreements

- the postal contribution to national trade policy and e-commerce development

- the role of the Post in trade inclusion of MSMEs, women and underserved communities;

- best practices in trade inclusion of MSMEs through the postal network and the postal sector's contribution to the implementation of the trade facilitation obligation.

Target population:

Staff of postal ministries, operators and regulators on postal trade facilitation

Requirements:

1.         Basic knowledge of international trade and postal activities: Students should have a foundational understanding of international trade concepts, principles, and terminology. This may include knowledge of topics such as import/export processes, postal services, trade agreements, tariffs, and customs procedures.

2.         Proficiency in business or economics: A background in business or economics for students taking a trade facilitation course. Familiarity with economic principles, supply chain management, logistics, and business operations can provide a solid foundation for understanding trade facilitation concepts.

3.         Analytical skills: Students should possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze trade facilitation challenges, evaluate the impact of policies, and propose solutions. Proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making can be valuable in this regard.

4.         Communication skills: Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are important in trade facilitation. Students should be able to clearly articulate ideas, write reports, and present findings to various stakeholders.

5.         Legal and regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with international trade laws, regulations, and conventions is beneficial for understanding the legal framework surrounding trade facilitation. Knowledge of customs procedures, trade documentation, and compliance requirements can also be advantageous.
