1- What is TRAINPOST?

TRAINPOST is a module-based training programme designed by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) with a view to enhancing the professional capacities of the employees of the postal administrations in UPU member countries.

2- How does the TRAINPOST distance-learning programme evolve?

Any trainee wishing to follow a TRAINPOST session needs to consider the following steps :
  1– register via Internet in order to obtain a login and a password allowing him/ her to access the contents of the training
  2 – start following the TRAINPOST session on the courses chosen at registration time
  3 – access the various features of the distance training platform (hub), namely :
      •  The course content
      •  The mail box
      •  The discussion forum
      •  The schedule, course notes . . .
  4 – carry out self-assessment tests under the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), matching question, simple answer question . . .

3- Who can I participate in a TRAINPOST session?

There is no requirement for participation. All you need to access the TRAINPOST distance-learning programme is to be a member of the postal staff of UPU member countries. Each postal administration designates its participant(s) taking into consideration the work post of each of them.

4- How are the postal training courses provided?

The TRAINPOST distance-learning programme offers the trainees five training fields, namely :
   1 – the field of Postal Reform & Regulation
   2 – the field of Postal Operations
   3 – the field of Management
   4 – the field of Human Resources
   5 – the field of Postal Technologies

One of the major advantages of the TRAINPOST distance-training programme is that it is proposed in several languages, namely French, Arabic and English, at present. It will be also proposed in Spanish, shortly.

13- What are the registration steps in a TRAINSPOST distance-learning course?

Registration in a TRAINPOST distance-learning course takes place according to the steps outlined under the entry « Registration ».

14- When the first distance training session was happened?

The first TRAINPOST distance-learning session has started at august the 10th 2004 and finished september the 20th 2004. So, more then 40 learners from more then 30 different countries has followed on the internet the course «Terminal Dues and Transit Charges». It was an open session, offered free of charge, to the African and Arab postal administrations staff.
